July 8, 2026 — The Knutson Companies was proud to support HomeAid National Capital Region as the organization celebrated 25 years of impact in our community. The evening honored HomeAid’s original founders, including our President, Don Knutson, and Steve Alloy, whose vision and leadership helped bring together builders, nonprofits and community leaders to create what is now known as HomeAid NCR. It was a meaningful celebration of the partnerships, compassion and collective commitment that continue to drive the organization’s mission forward today.

Following the event, HomeAid National Capital Region CEO Kristyn Burr shared the message below with supporters and partners who continue to make this mission possible. Her note reflects on the power of community, the importance of staying committed to the mission, and the ongoing need for safe, dignified housing throughout our region while expressing gratitude to those who have helped shape HomeAid’s impact over the past 25 years.

Thank You

On behalf of all of us at HomeAid National Capital Region, thank you for joining us last week to celebrate an incredible milestone: 25 years of building hope, dignity, and new beginnings.

It was a celebration of what happens when a community comes together with purpose. For 25 years, HomeAid has partnered with builders, trade partners, manufacturers, suppliers, nonprofits, and supporters like you to create safe, stable housing and programmatic facilities for our neighbors experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

I hope you had the chance to take a moment to reflect on what first drew you to HomeAid, what sparked that initial connection. Maybe it was a project you walked through, a story you heard, or a family whose life was changed. Perhaps it’s the partnerships and friendships you have built along the way, or the simple idea that dignified homes and facilities can change the entire trajectory of a life. I also hope you had the chance to think about what has kept you engaged with us, because staying committed is a choice, one rooted in compassion, in community, and in the belief that everyone deserves a safe place to call home. That shared belief is what brought us together last night and what will carry this mission forward.

The reality is the need in our community continues to grow. HomeAid’s work is only possible because of people like you, people who believe that safe, stable housing and programs that provide a hand up are not a luxury, but a basic human right.

So once again, I invite you to be part of what comes next for HomeAid and our nonprofit partners by making a tax-deductible donation using the “Donate Now” button below.

Thank you for your friendship and unwavering support of HomeAid’s mission. HomeAid wouldn’t be what it is today without you.

Sincerely,

Kristyn Burr
