District Towns at St. Elizabeths East Celebrates Ribbon Cutting and Model Opening
June 22, 2022 — Washington, D.C. District Towns at St. Elizabeths East recently achieved a significant milestone with the opening of its first rows of garage townhomes. Alongside the DC Mayor’s office, community members and future neighbors, the Knutson Companies celebrated a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in late April for the first of 88 townhomes the community will bring to this historic neighborhood.
Once the ceremony was over, the excitement continued as the initial homeowners were able to move into their new homes. This event marked the first opportunity for homeownership at St. Elizabeths East and a step in the ongoing efforts to redevelop the neighborhood for the residents of Ward 8.
“As we welcome the first homeowners to their new homes with this ribbon cutting ceremony, we are tremendously proud to help shape St. Elizabeths’ bright new future,” said Don Knutson, President of the Knutson Companies. “We at Knutson recognize the importance of the St. Elizabeths neighborhood to the greater DC community and are honored to be part of such a meaningful effort to bring more homeownership opportunities to the District.”
Now, District Towns is celebrating its next milestone with the opening of its new model home. Future homeowners can schedule a tour today to preview the spacious Sycamore model, one of the new townhome designs available for sale. Each home is designed with traditional, red-brick exteriors and spacious, modern interiors, with pricing from the mid $500s and lower $600s. Homeowners will have options for up to 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathroom and 2-car garages.
St. Elizabeths East is a walkable campus and homeowners will enjoy Gateway Park and Pavilion, ample community green spaces and the Entertainment and Sports Arena within the neighborhood. Additional planned developments include a hospital, a healthcare center and retail spaces. District Towns is also steps from the Congress Heights Metro and other local transportation options, allowing residents to easily access employment, entertainment and more throughout the D.C. region.
